Thread smart-home communication technology

Thread creates a faster, more stable mesh network for your smart home. It makes devices more responsive and connections more resilient, keeping your connected experience reliably online.
Hello, Thread.
Thread is a communication technology designed for smart homes that can greatly improve connection quality between devices. Alongside Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, your smart devices can now use Thread to communicate efficiently.

- Longer battery life
- Thread's exceptionally low-power design significantly extends battery life and reduces how often batteries need to be replaced.
- Fast, responsive control
- Thread is built for rapid response, so both mains-powered and battery-powered devices react immediately, regardless of network size.
- A future-ready standard
- Thread is a core foundation of Matter, the next-generation universal smart-home standard, helping keep your devices compatible well into the future.
What Thread brings to your home
Thread's defining difference is its mesh network. Lights, thermostats, outlets, sensors, and other devices can communicate directly with one another without the limitations of a traditional bridge.
Put simply, the more Thread devices you add, the stronger and more stable the network becomes. If one device fails, data automatically reroutes through the next device so the connection stays active.

No proprietary bridge required
Thread devices communicate without a dedicated brand bridge. They only need a Thread Border Router to operate.

Coverage without dead zones
If a device is too far from the Border Router, continuously powered devices such as the siyou Soluna lighting range can relay its signal and keep distant devices connected to the Thread network.

A resilient, self-healing network
If one node fails, another automatically takes its place. Unlike Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, Thread becomes more stable as devices are added without creating congestion or management complexity.
